THE TRAIL: Delhi-Srinagar-Leh-Nubra Valley-Pangong Lake-Manali-Delhi

Bike Ride to Sambhar Lake

12-13 March, 2016


Who can deny that NH-8 provide one of the best bike ride in India, Jaipur serves the most exotic food, and Sambhar Lake is the largest saline lake of the country? The overwhelming vastness of the Sambhar Lake is an extreme antithesis to the urban crowding and claustrophobia. Seeing it spread out as far as the horizon is akin to witnessing a miracle. Let’s pack our bags, tie our shoes and kick off to this ultimate anachronism created by Mother Nature in the Thar Desert. 

THE TRAIL: Delhi - Jaipur - Sambhar Lake - Delhi

ITINERARY
Day 1, 12th March: Delhi - Jaipur - (270km)
Start early morning for Rajasthan’s most flamboyant city, Jaipur. We will have breakfast on highway dhaba and zipping NH-8, we will reach Jaipur by the afternoon. After getting refreshed and lunch, take a tour around the Pink City. Overnight stay at hotel.

Day 02, 13th March: Jaipur – Sambhar Lake - Delhi (72km)
Next day early morning we will leave to Sambhar Lake. Breakfast on the way. Day will be spent visiting Shakumbari Devi temple, meeting locals, clicking colorfully attired local labourers, stand in absolute contrast to the stark white of the salt mounds all around. Concluding this unique road trip we will be back to Delhi by late evening.

Bhangarh is Back

Bhangarh never fail to allure roadies and dare devils. Known for its ruins and as one of Top 10 Most Haunted Places of the world, it might be renowned for its spooky presence but it can be seen as a beautiful and tranquil place. Specially road to Bhangarh is something must drive on. 

Lotwara, famous as Peacock Town is a scenic village surrounded by lush green fields located on the bank of Banganga River, which is believed to have been dug out by the striking of an arrow by Arjuna to quench the thirst of Bhishma Pitamah. The heritage Lotwara Fort was built by Thakur Ganga Singh in the 17th Century. 

Abhaneri is prominent for its 10th-century incredible step well Chand Baori. A geometrical sight, with around 11 visible levels of zigzagging steps. You must have seen it in Shahrukh Khan starer movie, Paheli.

THE TRAIL: Delhi - Bhangarh - Lotwara - Abhaneri - Delhi

ITINERARY
Day 1: Delhi - Bhangarh - Lotwara (332 kms)
Start early morning for the beautifully haunted - Bhangarh. We will have breakfast on highway dhaba of NH8 and from Dharuhera will catch SH25 to Alwar. Zipping through Rajgarh we will reach Bhangarh by the afternoon. After a tour around the ghost town, we will proceed to Lotwara. Overnight stay at the royal fort of Lotwara.

Day 02: Lotwara – Abhaneri - Delhi (311 km)
Next morning after breakfast we will visit Chand Baori, India’s most awe-inspiring step-wells at Abhaneri. Concluding this unique road trip we will be back to Delhi by late evening.
